In this work we try to propose a new reading of the frescoes of Esqulin domus in Rome representing the Ulixis errationes per topia. It is very interesting to annlyze the panel with the damneds that Ulysses meets in Hades; in fact those subjects are very imrportant in order to understand the meaning of life after death. They are elements that characterize the Underworld
and we find them in funerary decoration but also in house decoration; this analysis shows how their presence is connected to religious speculations, as it is possible to argue from contemporary literary texts.
