Abstract

From the etruscan necropolis at Pian Conserva, Tolfa, (RM) come some fragments of animalistic sculptures and "cippi" of the archaic period. Their stylistics and morphologic analysis stresses, once more, the close relations between the area productions and those of Cerveteri, whose leading role at the begin of etruscan sculpture is already widely known. To enrich the knowledge of archaic etruscan sculpture the appendix is about a "couple" of lions from Tarquinia, one of whitch is still unpublished.
