Abstract

Nothing is known about Etruscan potter’s wheels. The aim of this paper is to illustrate an archaic disc of clayfound in the urban area of Cerveteri that could be identfied with a potter’s wheel. The form of this ancient implement in the Greek, Etruscan and Roman world is also discussed. A few remarks follow on the context of discovery (the area of the Vigna Parrocchiale in Cerveteri, explored by the “Istituto per l’Archeologia Etrusco-Italica” of the Italian National Research Council), that confirm the identification.
