The purpose of this paper is to present a newly discovered kiln at Eretria, Euboia, which is built with particular elements: a double wall, a double mouth and an internal bank. The kiln is isolated from other structures or finds, which could help us to determine its function. By a close analysis of its building and with the help of comparisons with other furnaces, especially ceramic kilns and lime kilns, I will try to determine the exact function of the kiln at Eretria and more generally of this particular type of furnaces.
