Abstract

The paper examines an unedited female head in Museo Nazionale Romano that is a copy of the head of the Nymph of the group «Invitation to the dance». The comparative analysis demonstrates that this is one of the best replicas of the type, for its excellent quality of execution and its high fidelity to the prototype. For a better comprehension of the new head the paper critically discusses the problems concerning the group and offers an up-to-date list of the replicas.
